I'm back...

I'm pretty sure my last few posts say something about how I really want to blog again...blah, blah, blah.  Well this one is going to say the same thing.  This time it's a little different though.  I think I put too much pressure on myself when it comes to the whole blog thing.  I think that I must include pictures and a witty caption/story every time I write, but this blog is really just for me.  Some people, mainly family may want to take a peek into our life, but from here on out I'm taking the pressure off.  When I want to write, I'll write.  I don't have to be entertaining or include adorable pics of my kids with every post.  Basically I'm not here to impress anybody.  I do love to write.  I love to document our family's memories, but I could care less who reads this...gasp :)

Looking back....

I hardly think of my blog.  I haven't signed in to my blog in forever.  I was just hoping to remember my password.  Well, for the past few minutes I've been walking down memory lane.  I've been especially interested in looking back at my pregnancy with Mason.  I haven't made an official announcement, but word gets around in a small town...we are pregnant with baby #2.  I'm excited and nervous at the same time!  I am 19 weeks and hope to find out if we are having a boy or girl at our appointment next Thursday.

What have the Stillwagoners been up to lately?  Well Russel and Mason have started playing hockey on Monday nights.  We have tball practice on Tuesdays.  And in the classroom we are reviewing for the upcoming STAAR tests next week...EEK!  Mason has a birthday coming up soon, but who knows when the party will be?

So on to the promise to try to blog more...well it's not going to happen.  I don't trust myself to follow  Who knows this might be my only post for 2014, and then again maybe not.  We will just have to wait and see.

Holy Cow! Do I still remember how to do this?

Wow!  I actually logged in to Blogger and I don't recognize anything.  I'm just hoping I can figure out how to post, because it would really stink if I am just wasting my time.  My goal is to post once a week with our Stillwagoner family updates.  I am doing a really sorry job of keeping up Mason's pics and I so don't want to forget the really cute things he is doing.  I would love to say they are "unforgettable," but my memory quite frankly sucks.  With that said here's the latest...

1.  Christmas was great.  Mason got a lot of things...Note to self:  Next year don't go all out, because he gets too much from our family.  We....I mean HE got a trampoline.  It's been a lot of fun, and brings back a lot of  memories.  Let's just say I can still do a back flip with no hands.  It's just not near as high and pretty as it used to be  Mason and I play chase, crack-the-egg, and he loves to go HIGH!  His favorite saying lately is "Mommy, I'm not scared of anything."  This really has me worried.

2.  My husband cannot be happy with a vehicle for any length of time.  The latest was a 2007 Ford Expedition which his friends deemed the "soccer mom" ride.  He enjoyed it for a little while, but I secretly think this got to him a little bit, even though he would never admit it.  Regardless, he traded it in for his " least for the next 5 years vehicle" which is a brand new Dodge Ram...aka the same vehicle he traded in to get the Expedition.  Needless to say I am happy because he is happy.  I really do like it, and I feel like a beast when I get to drive it.

3.  We started going to church at Shannon Oaks Church before the school year started.  I have really enjoyed it, and hope to become more involved.  I'm so glad that Mason is learning so much in Sunday School.  Even though I'm a Christian, read the bible, and do my own little bible studies, so much can be said for actually going to church.  It really makes the upcoming week more manageable and puts everything into perspective.

4.  Books!  I am so in love with reading.  I know I'm a reading teacher, and I'm supposed to say that but it's true.  I love Goodreads.  With that said I am so proud of Saltillo and Texas A&M-Commerce alumni Colleen Hoover.  She has written three books--Slammed, Point of Retreat, and Hopeless.  She has hit the NY Times Bestseller list and her latest has been #1 on Amazon for e-books for the past couple of weeks.  Nobody deserves this more.  She has quite a talent.

5.  FLU....ugh-  Mason came down with the flu on Friday.  He stayed at home with his dad that day.  We took him to the new-ish minor emergency clinic on Saturday where he tested positive for strain B of the virus.  He has def. taken it well, but is acting more like himself.  It's amazing how quickly little ones can bounce back from such things.  I stayed home yesterday with him since the doc said he couldn't go back to school till today.

6.  Sleet, snow, and icy roads-  Well, timing was everything this morning.  All of a sudden it started sleeting and sticking.  I slid through an intersection on my way to take Mason to daycare this morning, then parked and called in to school.  This week will be unbelievable to catch up from....out two days and have a workshop on Thursday....ughhhh.  Weird thing is this same day 5 years ago I wrecked my cute little two door Honda Accord when I did a 360 on the interstate on a bridge.  Luckily I wasn't hurt, but the memory really scares me when I think about being out and about in such bad I stayed at home.  Russel would have driven me, but he was working.

7.  Last but not least....OMG I am 30 today!  Yes, today is my birthday...It doesn't really feel like my birthday, but I did get to stay at home with my sweet boy and that was awesome.  I also did what almost every teacher does when they get a day off from their work from home....Yay!

Down time...

Well, I did have seventh graders this period.  Just as we were going over their STAAR test benchmark the office calls them out to the gym to take a finess-gram test.  Needless to so they were a little excited!  The silence in my classroom at the moment, however, makes me just as excited about this as they were.  I was going to spend my time catching up on some blogs, and thought what the heck...I might as well write a quick one.  Hopefully I'll get back on the blogging scene soon!  Till then, here's a list of my blogging to do's.

Up, Up, and Away.....

This past week was the famous Dairy Festival.  We didn't really get to participate in a lot of the festivities, but we did go to see the hot air balloons.  Mason had a blast, as we went from balloon to balloon collecting their "trading cards."  He knew exactly which ones he wanted to see, so he led the way.  I have to say that they were beautiful.  I would love to actually ride in one sometime.

Splish splash--My son the fish......

Mason loves the water! We bought a kiddie pool for the house, but he loves to go to Nannie's to swim in the big pool. He reminds me so much of my brother, Aaron, in the water. When his head goes under the water, he doesn't freak out or anything. He just keeps on swimming. In our small pool he likes to play with balls and different cups. In the big pool he takes rides in his "duck" (which is actually a penguin). His favorite thing to do though, is to jump into the pool and into our arms. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time at Nannie and Johnna's swimming this summer! Maybe it will help this white girl actually get a "real" tan......

Mason turns 2!

Let me start off by saying that I CANNOT believe my baby is turning 2!  These past couple of years have really flown by.  We started our morning off with Mason's favorite breakfast-pancakes or simply "cakes" as M calls them.  We had Mason's birthday party at Kid's Kingdom on May 7th, which is his actual birthday.  We invited our family and a few friends.    There were a lot of people that came to celebrate with us.  Mason had fun playing at the park during the party with his guests.  Our party had a Toy Story theme, Mason's favorite movie as of right now.  I would have to say my favorite part of the party was when we sang "Happy Birthday."  Mason had this confused look on his face, like "why are all these people singing to me."  Let me say that I'm just glad he didn't tell us to "hush" like he does when I sing to him!  After the party we came home and napped for 3 hours!  Woo hoo!  I think we all needed the rest.  Then we went fishing with with Lee-Lee at the pond.  Mason was interested in fishing, so we gave him an old pole so he could fish just like Daddy and Lee-Lee.  It was a really special day, and I can't wait to see what great memories  Mason's third year will bring!
